Hello Everyone. Quick Journal here. I am planning on creating my own universe, which I have planned for years now but only recently only begun making. This is not done as I am going to talk about the ideas more in detail later on and this journal will be updated (hopefully) along with it.

Mutationis, of course:

Sapient Celestial Objects:

Fermi Paradox:

Eldritch and the Otherworldly:

Megastructures:

Reality Warping:

Rules: List ten of your favorite characters, one from each franchise/fandom, and tag ten people.

Note: None of these come in any specific order, as I constantly change. Nor could this one include all my favorites, which goes into the hundreds. So this is a short collection that I made in a limited amount of time, as I am very tired right now.

1. A tie between Nyarlathotep (Cthulhu Mythos), AM (I have no mouth and I must scream), and the SCP Foundation (Yes, THE ENTIRE foundation counts as a character)

2. Ainz Ooal Gown (Overlord)

3. Zerec Zaye and Zaries (Fight for Endworld/Hearts of Vengeance)

4. Linkara (AT4W)

5. Ahzek Ahriman (Warhammer 40K)

6. King Settra (Warhammer Fantasy)

7. Ultron (Marvel)

8. Sauron and Morgoth (LOTR)

9. Wonder Woman (DC Comics)

10. Bill Cipher (Gravity Falls)

I tag no one. Because it doesn't usually end well.

Ah Mutationis, my (perhaps) most popular character. Due to being the first character I made on this site that I showed and wrote about, he remains my favourite character that I have just because of the many ideas I have of him. I am also sure that many also like him, due to his tricksters’ natural ability and his immense power, which he rarely shows unless he needs too. He is also most famous due to the amount of roleplay’s that I have with him. A bit of a shame there, but nothing I can do about that. But I am not sure that many of you are aware of what he is, what he TRULY is. So I have prepared this relatively short/long (depending on how long you can write) halfway essay about what he is and how he came to be.
So what exactly is he? An interesting question for an interesting answer. In order to explain properly what he truly is, I need to explain the most inspiration I receive for my work. Namely, the work of Howard Philips Lovecraft, the Cthulhu Mythos.

Howard Phillips, more commonly known as H.P Lovecraft, lived from August 20, 1890, to March 15, 1937, is one of the most famous writers of the twentieth century and the one who practically invented cosmic horror. As such he is beloved as perhaps the greatest horror writer of all time, second only to that of Edgar Allan Poe, someone I will write about later, though only for a small bit. Lovecraft is most famous for creating the Cosmic Horror genre, that humanity is insignificant in an uncaring universe, and creating the Cthulhu mythos, filled beyond the brim with horrors and gods. Less famous for being a racist. And is from this mythos, that I first drew my inspiration for Mutationis.

Now, for those who are not familiar with the mythos like I am. No, Cthulhu is not the inspiration. Despite popular belief, Cthulhu is not even that important in the mythos, he is just popular enough to have the series named after him due to his story “Call of Cthulhu”, which I totally recommend as one of Lovecraft’s best stories. He is just a Great Old One. More powerful than anything on Earth, but one of the weakest in the whole Mythos. Nono, Mutationis is inspired, to this day, by the Outer Gods.

Outer Gods are, in short, beings that transcend every layer of existence and every dimension. As such, they transcend every boundary, conception, being and size. They are some of the most powerful beings in fiction because of this. They are so powerful, that they can transform a character that planned to rule all of existence (and could in a sense) into a paranoid shut-in, just from catching their temporary attention, before completely and utterly obliterating said character. That is how insanely powerful and proof how much they just transcend everything. Notable examples of Outer Gods (Or Ultimate Gods, lesser Outer Gods) are Yog-Sothoth, the One-in-All, the All-in-One, the Gate and the Silver key. Nyaralathotep the Crawling Chaos, who is the messenger and voice of the Outer Gods (Though not happy about it) and has the title of greatest jerk and douchebag in all of fiction. Shub-Niggurath, the Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand young, fertility goddess. And finally, Azathoth the Daemon Sultan, the Nuclear Chaos. Supreme Being of all existence and nonexistence, literally GOD.

So just how Mutationis fit in among these great beings, these beings who are beyond concepts, who, as many of you should know, Mutationis is. Mutationis the embodiment of Change, which is a concept. In fact, my whole image of Mutationis started when learned of Change Embodiment, something which is on the Powers Wiki, which allows the user to embody change itself, which means the manipulation of anything. Damage, Reality, other Concepts, nothing was beyond it except true Omnipotence. So I started at first thinking: What kind of character would fit the best with such immense power. And it didn’t take long before Lovecraft came to mind, and I soon checked out more of the mythos to see if anything fit. The Outer Gods were such a thing that could fit such boundless might. But then I saw the truth, the Outer Gods were not strong simply because they were, but because they transcended existence and dimensions. I figured in my head: Hey, that fits change. Of course, I also learned that Outer Gods view everything as an unchanging whole, as change limits the perspective. Maybe it does, but I will get to that soon enough.

Well, I can explain that too as soon as I explain my living ideas.

Living Ideas, Living Concepts, are going to be a big thing in one of my universes when I get around to making it. So, in short, they are concepts that have become a physical force and has become sapient or sentient. Things such as the concepts of Colour, Life, Death, Entropy, Law, Order, Chaos, Speed, Gravity etc, became actual existing beings. Now, big concepts such as Life or Death became powerful, as they rule over two fundamental forces that govern other beings, even immortals, while things such as Hope or Hatred, Good and Evil are just aspects of life. However, even Life and Death are lesser than those like the laws of physics, such as Gravity, Electromagnetism, weak and Strong Nuclear force, who along with Entropy and others, are the supreme beings of our universe.

Change, in this living concepts universe, is superior to all others. It governs them, as everything is under this most fundamental force of existence, even nonexistence. Even Chaos which connects to everything is lesser than it is here. It can anything it pleases, everything in its appendages, but its mind is a changing mess. Its mere idea has changed itself, making itself a mindless yet the ultimate intelligence.

But even before this Change became the master of this universe there was one before it, which transcended them all even before this universe was born, an infinite amount of endless eternities stretching forever before it. Before there was anything, in our pointless concept of causality, the Omnipotent, whether it was Azathoth who started dreaming, or a divine presence, or perhaps the undoubtedly first idea, the change was born. It was born as soon, even before anything else except for what started it all and nothing. However, this change was more powerful than anything else, and in less than the first pico instant, it transcended itself beyond the boundless infinite archetype and became an Outer Concept, a concept that is beyond anything we know about. It was this effect that made it something akin to an Outer God, but whether or not it is, unknowable. It transcended a reality that has no other words than that of the Void. However, it is among those like itself, if causality mattered to it, it gained intelligence as soon as it transcended lesser concepts. This unfathomable intellect was neither benign nor malign, it was absurd to even assume something of such a boundless and beyond ancient being. It, however, began to seep its “appendages” into what most would call the Omniverse, this Totality, to such a being it was akin to a star larger than universes sunlight going over a plank length, and that is an entirely insignificant analogy to such a being that is in a reality that is unbound by dimensions, this Ultimate Void. This is what caused the many changes in all of existence, which it strangely seemed to feed off. Despite this infinite small part of it feeding on our existence and seeming petty goals for such an eldritch being, it is among some of the stronger Outer Gods, being infinitely more impressive most of the Outer Gods, but even with its standing, it was still lesser than that of All-in-One, which was an even more impressive than this Outer Change. After all, it was still a part of the All-in-One, One-in-All…
Man, that was edgy. Still had fun typing it.

(MASSIVE NOTE RIGHT HERE: READ IT) I wish I had even a tenth of the immense writing ability of Lovecraft to put in power in too his written word, even if most of it was just purple prose and rather boring. Now that I have re-read it I see that is rather weird and might seem to be just "oh, this thing is stronger than everything ever". Despite the fact that when I imagine it, this was just the Supreme Deity of my whole universe. I just wanted it to seem massive in comparison to humans and it's not really meant to beat other things up, mostly to be there and be all omnipotent like. So even if this sounds impressive, it is worse than that which is described in Through the Gates of the Silver Key. So please, read this respect thread of the Mythos about that of Nyarlathotep, Yog-Sothoth and Azathoth. Put it into your perspective and you will understand just how he is if he was in my mind.

It didn’t take long for this being to begin having avatars of its own power, smaller versions that were an immensely lesser than itself but some still transcended the limitations of layers of existence and dimensions. It some of these avatars, that would become the being which you, my dear readers, known as Mutationis, the Lord In Blue and the Exalted God of Change. But who knows… Maybe none of this is true and it all just a fabrication of an avatar which conceals itself as text. If so it is terrible at what it does.

So now we get on to the avatars, inspired by Tawil-at-U'mr and the other Avatars of Yog-Sothoth and the Avatars of Nyarlathotep, which is actually where most of the inspiration for his creation comes from. As I just mentioned, they are a part of the actual Mutationis, although infinitely smaller and inferior. The one most of you are aware showed up in a void with two gods, those of Nihil and Unu, who were squabbling. Check out one of his previous bios for more information. Another showed up in another void, filled with even more gods, and this was middle in terms of the power of Avatars. This one made a realm called Dausquiel, which is the Frame of the Middle. This realm is like the Ultimate Void but on a lesser scale and more butchered physics, it has a countless number of eldritch horrors, demons, angels (Not the fluffy heaven kind, kiddos), arkantine constructs, which was made by the one who met Nihil and Unu and the residents, shards of these avatars, fragments if you will. If you want to know more about this one I suggest you read the Wild Girl Character Sheet of him. These ones main purpose seems to be to spread change, which means progress to most but it also means conflict. As such, many revolutions and disastrous events on some worlds and realms are the result of the avatars interference. Some of the avatars or suits, as they are sometimes called, are even some of the pagan gods of old myths. Some of them are Odin with his two ravens Hugin and Munin, Apophis or Apep and even an ancient forgotten deity over a small civilization that used to be in the area now known as the black sea. As you can see, inspiration is based on ancient myths and the beginning of the universe.

Mutationis immense fixation on corvids, believe it or not, was not actually born out of the fact that Tzeentch, the chaos god of change, also has ravens. It was instead born out of my immense love for the feathery corvids themselves. Ravens and corvids are some of the smartest animals on the planet and they can even make tools, figure out puzzles etc, they are also smart but fearless enough that they can mess with predators larger than themselves like humans and eagles. They can be represented as tricksters and sometimes even the creators of stories. That and they have an aura of menace in most of the mythology, typically as symbols of death and bad omens, due to being carrion birds and eating the fresh corpses. Edgar Allan Poe wrote the story “The Raven” which was a man who had lost the love of his life is being interrupted by a raven who constantly repeats a word, “Nevermore”. This eventually drives the narrator to insanity. While in the story it is meant to represent the narrator, a lonely man, projecting his loss and grief on a random raven (It is not even clear if the raven is real) to the point of madness. For Mutationis however, it is meant just how easily he can get inside the minds of those around him and how many strings he can pull with no effort. So that is why Mutationis prefers the raven form (Even the mostly raven man), as he likes the things he references.

Mutationis, or at least the two most common tendrils or suits (yet another title for them) has a love for theatrics. As such, they are very fond of dramatic entrances and long titles but even they can find it tiring it sometimes. They are even fonder of manipulation. As such, Mutationis acts frequently as that of a chess master or a manipulating bastard, frequently manipulating those around him to fit his needs. As much as he may lie, deceive and use, he will use the truth more often unless he is desperate. He can tell everyone your deepest secrets or hidden desires with his mental abilities. He can turn even the best of people against each other with effective uses of the truth or to his side. If all things fail, he will resort to intimation and consider he is part of an entity beyond human existence, this is not hard. Him showing even the slightest, tiniest glimpse of even what his avatar is, is enough to break the toughest. Not only have that but because he can shapeshift into anything he wishes, so he can show himself as something outed of someone’s worst nightmare or multiple worse nightmares, or as something that can break your sanity and mind. This was inspired by Pennywise the Dancing Clown aka IT from the book IT (Which I have read from start to finish) I personally love the moments with IT in the book, except when it is swearing too profanely.

Mutationis powers are also inspired by the Mythos, namely his more strange abilities, but his reality warping is based on multiple reality warpers such as Bill Cipher, Q, Gabriel, psykers and other reality warpers. The inspiration for some of the reality warping was space, the Universe itself, the sheer beauty of something so massive being controlled by an entity was always fun to me. Causing chains of supernovas, creating supermassive black holes, making quasars. That kind of thing.

And now, we are going to have a short recap of what Mutationis is, marked by this text:
Mutationis is the avatar or “suit” of a far superior and infinitely more impressive being that resides outside all dimensions and existence, that a small appendage of it has its grip in our dimensions and reality that has multiple more of these avatars existing in it. These avatars seek to cause changes in all its form, whether or not it is for survival is not known if it applies to all of them. The Avatars are supreme masters of reality and unreality and are excellent tricksters and manipulators. Some of them are so powerful that they can even cross into the void beyond all dimensions without difficulty, sometimes to bring some select individuals to meet this True Mutationis. Avatars mainly cause changes on both small and massive scales, some on even multiversal scales but they prefer to use others to do some of their deeds for them. They are even worshipped by some. But never believe that they are one and the same in personality. Each is in an individual, though they are connected by a collective consciousness. They can appear as anything they please but one of the most common forms is that of a Raven. They wield unfathomable power and a mind to match. So mark these words: Whatever you do, Fear the Raven. For one never knows what is behind that masquerade.

And that is my What is Mutationis? The Inspiration. Was it any good? Did you like it? And please, tell me the improvements I could have made. I know there are improvements I could have done, so tell me which I should improve. Anyway, this was it. Found it a bit short myself, but I couldn’t come up with anything else. So bye-bye everyone, let not the raven scare ye now.
